The Phifers at 9604 Asbury Court in Henrico, Virginia have been decorating their house for Christmas since 1974. Richmonders consider the Phifers one of the original displays that inspired the global phenomena called the Tacky Light Tour. They continue to be one of the must-see stops on the Tacky Lights Tour. They are the original winners of the original large Christmas light bulb Tacky Award from TackyLightTour.com in 2005. Plus, the Phifers were featured on the ABC channel's Great Christmas Light Fight in 2017. Up until 2022, their Christmas display spanned across two neighboring properties leading into a cul-de-sac that notoriously causes traffic jams involving vans, limos, party buses and 40-foot chartered buses. After the passing of Bobby Phifer's mother her property was sold and now the display is constrained to one property, but still jam-packed and over-the-top.
We live on a cul-de-sac, so please be mindful of our neighbors and be prepared to drive very slowly. Feel free to get out and walk to see things up close at your own pace.
